Classroom Usage Guidelines

Please follow these guidelines when using classrooms or other learning spaces.

Looking for study space?

Classrooms can be used as a study space when classes or other events are not in session. Please give priority to users who have the room booked; classroom schedules are available on the UBC Online Timetable (CWL login required.) Use the Find a space page to check the building’s open hours.

Classroom usage guidelines

  1. Spill-proof drinks and snacks allowed
    • Drinks in spill-proof containers and snacks are acceptable for students to consume in classrooms. It is your responsibility to take your waste to the nearest Sort It Out station.
    • Catering in classrooms is not permitted.
  2. Return furniture to its original setup
    • Please return all furniture (tables, desks, chairs) back to their original setup (diagram is posted on the wall) and erase the whiteboards/chalkboards. This ensures the classroom is ready for the next class.
  3. Clean up and sort out your waste
    • Please take your waste to the nearest Sort It Out station, which are usually located in a nearby hallway.
  4. Avoid wearing scented products
    • Scented personal products may contain chemicals which can cause health problems for many people, especially those with asthma, allergies or environmental illnesses. Please limit the use of scented personal care products.
  5. Vacate the classroom by 11:00 pm
    • Please gather your belongings and leave before 11:00 pm. This helps ensure UBC staff have time to prepare the classrooms for the next day.

Thank you for keeping our classrooms clean and welcoming.
